Raegan’s Story — The Heart Behind The Lavender Gray Project

ree

Raegan is the original inspiration behind The Lavender Gray Project.

At just three weeks old, Raegan began having seizures. After numerous medications, countless tests, a flight in the Flight for Life airplane, and six days in the PICU at Colorado Children’s Hospital, she was diagnosed with epilepsy. Lavender represents this part of her journey — purple is the awareness color for epilepsy.

At six weeks old, Raegan started occupational therapy. Over the years, we’ve continued OT, completed several rounds of speech therapy, and most recently added physical therapy. The constant cycle of appointments — with her primary doctor, neurologist, therapists, and specialists — can be exhausting and isolating.

There are days filled with questions and doubts: trusting a mother’s intuition, adjusting medications, staying alert for any changes, and wondering if your child’s “normal” is enough. These experiences became another cornerstone of inspiration for The Lavender Gray Project.

Today, Raegan is strong and thriving. She’s a spicy little girl who loves glitter, pink, unicorns, and shopping. We are incredibly grateful that her seizures are mostly controlled with medication — though it can still feel like a lonely place, always wondering when the other shoe might drop.

Through every setback, the Lord continues to provide us with comebacks that are abundant and full of grace. So, in the dark, I choose to be a light — building the community I once longed for.

Welcome, and thank you for joining us.
